Why people go looking for an alternative
The searches that land on this page cluster into three complaints, and they're worth naming plainly.
"It only does Instagram." That was fine when Instagram was where everything lived. If the thing you want to keep is now split across a reel, a TikTok and a post on X, a single-network tool means three tools. "It stopped working." Every Instagram downloader breaks periodically, because Instagram changes and downloaders follow. Nobody is immune to that, including this one. What differs is how quickly a fix ships and whether you paid a subscription for the period it was broken. A one-time licence at least means an outage doesn't renew.
"I just want the files in a folder." A managed library inside an app is useful right up until you want the photos somewhere else. This app has no library format of its own on disk: it writes ordinary files into a folder you picked, named by account and date. Delete the app tomorrow and the archive is untouched.
